Strelkov - Omul Anului în online-ul din Rusia

we would expect this from sputnik & pogrom, but it has lots of interesting historical details

Man of the year: Igor Strelkov
Sputnik & Pogrom, Dec 26 2014

In the rich on events 2014 was a lot of unexpected, unusual and even sensational. Who on 1 January could assume that after 4 months on the East of Ukraine breaks out bloody war in Europe will begin the largest in the last 20 years if not more the crisis? Anyone who has taken would argue that something like this happens, announced would be crazy. Reality gave everyone a lot of surprises in the past year. But even amid all these events apart is the emergence of the figure of Igor Strelkov. Completely impossible in 2014, the character, as if descended from the faded photo of pre-revolutionary officers. Whether Reconstructor, whether an FBI agent, or even the GRU. After the appearance of the figures Strelkova on radar in Apr 2014 versions about who he was nominated a huge amount. Anyway, and the appearance of such strange man can’t be ignored, especially as in previous years figures with the same charisma simply did not arise. The most interesting thing about Strelkova really do not know, even despite hundreds of reports, as of praise and full of hatred towards him. In April, when his name first appeared at the hearing, about it absolutely nothing was known. SBU after a long pause he reveal that he is an agent of the GRU (although Strelkov in all of the interviews have consistently denied involvement in this structure). Even when his name was entered into the list of persons who are under personal sanctions by the US and EU, it was listed without a date of birth and other information, as no data about it. Slowly the fog began to dissipate. Mainly through interviews Strelkova, which he was to give on a regular basis. It turned out that he was born in 1970 and that he is a hereditary military. Although his biography for the military is quite unusual.

For example, the hereditary military already knows from childhood, in which institution they will learn to become officers. Often, if a child is born into a military family and not against it, to connect his life with the army, the training there from early youth. In the case of Small everything was different. He graduated from absolutely civilian University – Moscow state historical archives Institute. At the same time managed even when he was a student twice to visit the hot spots of volunteer: first, in Transnistria, where he was listed in the composition of the black sea Cossack troops, but the conflict was over very quickly and then he went into the burning Yugoslavia, where almost half a year was included in one of the Russian volunteer units. Contrary to popular belief, the war in Yugoslavia did not differ particularly violent clashes involving large numbers of troops. Mostly all of them had small fights/skirmishes, after which one of the parties retreated. Shooters in the late 90-ies wrote memoirs about the war. Judging by written, there was something akin to the films of Emir Kusturica:
Going forward, the scouts carefully examined the tunnels, and then, coming to the village of Tirgoviste, went to the homes, constantly waiting for the barrage of enemy fire. However, the village was empty, Muslims as “evaporated. “As” has decided to go further, to explore the situation in the area Setijoso (the area where along the road one after the other, there are three villages: the Village Field, Hamsici and Is Rural). But there the enemy was not found. In Setijoso the headquarters and warehouses of the Serbian battalion, which was “discarded” attack of the enemy. The headquarters was light, squeaked’t knapsack off the radio. The Windows were wide open and the garden beds are clearly visible fingerprints boots runaway staff “warriors”. Untouched remained two cars, food warehouse (but the Muslims at that time had experienced difficulties with food!). At the positions previously occupied by the Serbs, the scouts found boxes of canned food, a box of grenades and a bolt gun. Serbs, presumably, panicked, just totally ran away with positions, while the Muslims could not even imagine that in front of them no one. Making sure to approach the mortars and antiaircraft guns, exploration moved on to the village of Donja Strmica. Mortar platoon also wouldn’t have stayed in Setijoso, if not unexpected incident. While alert volunteers were loaded into the car jars of jam, found in the Serbian headquarters, over the radio came a masculine scream “Zagreba” that came with his detachment from the mountains, had ordered the Cossacks to attack the village. To connect with ACE, he apparently considered it below his dignity, so that during the operation he knew nothing.

Appearing in the village, Alexander first fell on a group of Serb volunteers, just qualifying and advanced to support the scouts Asa. “Rakes” yelled that the Serbs panties, that he would show them how to fight”, and then began to shoot from his gun right at his feet startled “voicecam”. Further – more, staggering, “Rakes” approached the car of mortar and noticed in the back of a bottle of vintage “Riesling” (found in the headquarters), pulled it out and broke on the ground with a cry that all volunteers are alcoholics and that he “will disarm”. Its almost shot, after which the Cossacks, exhausted heavy marching through the mountains, settled down to rest, and the men went forward and took up a firing position at a burnt during the previous “attacks” Serbian “Prague”. Scouts, adjusting fire mortars at Donja Strmica, after minor skirmishes have passed and this village, but the Mining of Strmica were stopped by heavy fire from the enemy. Before this unfortunate missed tractor, hastily wheeled it towards the enemy, – calculation anti-aircraft guns, approached the scouts could not get on quickly hiding purpose.
By the way, the Russian volunteers was then not so much, only a few dozen people in several groups. Moreover, relations between these groups were quite strained.
At the end of Jan 1993 in the town of Visegrad in Eastern Bosnia, was based two volunteer units: the 2nd Russian Volunteer squad (nicknamed by the tabloid press “Royal wolf”) and “1-I summary Cossack squadron”. In the 2nd WFD, without considering the wounded, there were 12 people, and a hundred, not counting lying in hospitals) about 30 fighters. Relations between the two divisions were strained for a number of reasons. The main one was some hostility that arose after the unsuccessful battle of village Tvrtkovic in early January, where the “hangover” adjustments Cossack commanders mortars Russian squad got hit Cossack chain, resulting in one Cossack and Serb-conductor were killed and another soldier was left disabled. The head of hundreds, adventurer of unknown origin, Alexander by name-surname “Rakes” to that lost four people in a minefield, where the Cossacks went under his leadership, sought to put all the blame on the “neighbors”. Not wanting to deal with “Zagrebin”, Kamshilov, Theplatinum and Co volunteers (among them were the Cossacks) kept aloof from the “Cossacks of Cossack village”. This was facilitated by the complete lack of discipline in the hundred, where drunkenness with shooting, fights and lashings, throwing hand grenades directly from the Windows of the barracks was almost a daily occurrence, while in the WFD was maintained more or less strict order. Therefore, many Cossacks were spending days and nights in the Russian barracks, where they always found a friendly welcome.
Actually, Strelkov, then Girkin, fought just in the so-called “Royal wolf”, who got his nickname because of monarchical and kolomeisky belief of most volunteers. Moreover, it is reported that the Strelkov was not an ordinary fighter, but Deputy commander of the “Asa” – Alexander Mohareva, also fought in Transnistria.

WFD-2 was a continuation of art-1 – the first volunteer group which fought in Bosnia and ceased to exist as a separate unit at the end of 1992. A distinctive feature of this group was the banner and symbol – black-white-yellow “Cyrodilic ruler and double-headed eagle. This unit lasted until mid-1993 and he was replaced by the WFD-3, commanded already one of the Serbian Chetniks. When he had finished the Moscow state historical archives Institute, Strelkov went to serve compulsory military service in the Russian army. It is reported that he served in the company of a missile base in the Moscow region, and then continued to serve under contract. At first he thought the captain and hardly not warrant officer, but later it turned out that he is a retired Colonel. It also became known that he participated in both Chechen campaigns. When he was in the FSB (and the Shooters have repeatedly argued that worked in the FSB, not the GRU, and went to the reserve and is not a current employee), of course, is not reported. We can assume that he was in sight even to the end of his studies at the Institute, when volunteered in Transnistria and Bosnia, but this is doubtful, because then he would unlikely to serve military service simple shot in the company of. Just a couple of days ago, the media published an interview with some FSB General “Kazantsev,” presented as a mentor Strelkova, in which he told about how he got into special services:
Igor took by accident. The Moscow Department of the FSB was something to the group, seems to be monarchists. When monarchists sitting somewhere in the kitchen and talk on the theme: “We are king here, arms, let us, then, of course, the secret service, the question arises, how large is the probability that they will actually take up arms. So watched them. But all to no avail. They only trindad: “For faith, Tsar and Fatherland”, “Honour”, “Your honour” – but nothing more. The real action, however.
And Igor among them was distinguished for intelligence and wit. Plus he’s already fought two wars, and it was a certain reverence. The same piety has arisen from my subordinates. They regarded him, listened, apparently, and finally met with him, and then come to me and say, “Gennady Nikolaevich, there is one good candidate for the job. Let’s we take, the more that we now send to Chechnya young employees to run. And he already has military experience“. When I learned that he is the defendant in the case of Operaciya, and group, I certainly have doubts. But it was in the 90’s, the time was dashing. And me, these two Colonel persuaded. he guys pulled Igor and after some time, bring him to me, “Gennady Nikolaevich, here is our new employee. I liked him. We talked to him, the intelligence in his place, head works well, historical reminiscences of memory with no problems removing it. I asked him notes and documents to show me. Look: writes like a God. As in any office, especially such as ours, if the reports are written in the right language, with commas with dots is considered “aerobatics”. And he got enough to work successfully. Think it was in 1995.
In the same interview, the General says that Strelkova virtually forced to leave the reserve because of his political views:
Its out of our organization, we can say, politely asked, and was for that. Igor was not mindless contractor and their doubts about the political realities in front of co-workers was not concealing. Were the restructuring changes. In this case, all displayed for staff and newly hired. He did not provide the post. Then he suggested, seems to be somewhere in the Krasnoyarsk region, even with the reduction. Igor disagreed, though, and wanted to serve.
Since the late 90’s he also began to be published in the media. In the period from 1998 to 2000 appeared more than a dozen of his publications in his legendary brutality of the newspaper “Tomorrow”. In the late nineties – early zero, this newspaper was the mouthpiece of the Communist Imperial propaganda of the hardcore variety. “The Yeltsin gang on trial” was still the most innocuous.

In the period from 1998 to 2000 appeared more than a dozen publications Strelkova in his legendary brutality of the newspaper “Tomorrow” (“Zavtra”). It is then Prokhanov with his “Fifth Empire” stopped criticism of the government in the face of Putin, and then everything was very provocatively. Shooters wrote articles mainly on the theme of the Chechen conflict, as when he started the Second Chechen war. In the materials of those years he was very harshly criticized the actions of the authorities and particularly castigated the head of Ingushetia, Ruslan Aushev. Now many people have forgotten, but in the 90s of the main Caucasian alpha jerk was Aushev, until then, until it was replaced by Kadyrov. In the same newspaper was the son of the Soviet philosopher and the future Prime Minister of Donetsk national Republic Alexander Boroday. Shortly before the Ukrainian events he was listed as a consultant “Orthodox oligarch” Konstantin Malofeev (which was already mentioned in recent history with Dugin is restored) and Marshall Capital. Also in the network, mainly on Ukrainian sites, mentions that after retirement Shooters worked as the head of the security service in Malofeeva Marshall Capital. Despite the lack of official confirmation of this information, it is quite similar to the truth, because Shooters, in his own words, in the beginning of 2014 was engaged in the security of the Gifts of the Magi” in Kiev, the arrival of which was organized just Malofeev.

The most interesting thing started already after the Shooters left the post of commander of the defence forces DND and returned to Russia. Everyone was guessing what he will do: lie down on the floor, or, conversely, try to use your capital earned through dozens of enthusiastic reports of journalists. For some time he was silent, but then made some surprising statements in the spirit: “to rally around Putin”, “masons and the Rothschilds prepare the dismemberment of Russia”, to “respond to global conspiracies and the forces of evil” and the like. The other day he was all amazed, suddenly marrying a young girl who was his assistant. In politics he especially doesn’t fit, it is logical for fear of unpleasant consequences. The discussion topic was and the views and political beliefs Strelkov. Despite the abundance of photos from the reenactment of events in the form of the white armies, and confirmed membership in the military-historical club “Markovci” and Drozdowski Association, some of his claims about the USSR and Stalin was filled with fog and was not clear: not that he is a monarchist, not the whites, and maybe actually a Stalinist. Good people have compiled a selection of different statements Strelkova made at the forum “markovetses” in those days, when he was not yet known, from which we can draw conclusions about the relationship Strelkova to the USSR, anyway, about that relationship, as it was recently:
I am deeply convinced that the Bolsheviks still in Russia. Yes, it mutated almost beyond recognition. Yes, the formal ideology of this government has changed its sign to the opposite. But it remains unchanged in the framework of its anti-Russian, antipatriotism, anti-religious orientation.

In its ranks are the direct descendants of the very people who made the revolution of the 17th. They just repainted, but not fundamentally changed. Aside ideology, preventing them to get rich and enjoy the material benefits, they remained in power. In 1991 was a coup. Counter-revolution still has not occurred.
About Putin, he then spoke much sharper than he does now, and to rally around him did not suggest, on the contrary.
In connection with the interests of the West to destabilize Russia) protests against Putin will not stop. They will continue on increasing. Does this mean that we need to support Putin? Of course not! Rather, it could be support – when a radical change of course, refusal comprador and through thieving environment. But the probability that he will do negligible. All his policy is “swing”, he tries to please the West, and the patriots rely. Typical Latin American policy dictatoric, seizing up the authorities and nobody wants to give up.
However, we cannot exclude that option, in which Strelkov are forced to portray boundless love for the “commander in chief”, knowing full well that he had been involved in a serious game, and if anything they can donate if needed. Although we cannot exclude the hypothesis that the Shooters decided that the case of Crimea is precisely the situation “a fundamental change of course. From the records it is clear that he is a monarchist, and quite a while ago:
I was present when the collapse of the USSR, in a quite capable (20 years) of age. Even then I was conscious monarchist, but with all the anti-Soviet sentiment, I was overcome with conflicting emotions. On the one hand, was the satisfaction from the fact that the eyes of the crumbling anti-Christian, anti-Russian, inhuman in its base state. On the other hand the understanding that it is crumbling… and under its debris is unlikely to occur revival of Historical Russia. There was still an acute feeling that the people who stood at the head of the “revolution”, is flesh of the flesh of the most heinous variety Soviet party nomenclature and act in a purely personal selfish interests. Unfortunately, this presentiment was justified. I consider myself an ideological supporter of absolute monarchy in Russia. One of the first in Moscow (year, I believe, 1990) swore Vladimir Kirillovich (son of Grand Duke Kirill Vladimirovich), was young and enthusiastic… the disappointment was bitter”.

Well, quite unexpected sympathy for the Russian corps during WW2.
I have signed in respect to the Russian corps of General Stafon in Yugoslavia.
If anyone knows, the Russian corps fought in Yugoslavia, together with the Germans and the Serbian Chetniks against Tito’s partisans. The body was Russian immigrants from Yugoslavia. A little less than was joined immigrants from Romania and Bulgaria. Met and the individual ranks of the Soviet prisoners of war, but they were the minority. They were mostly the children of Russian immigrants, but a considerable number were present and the participants of the Civil war in Russia that age were allowed to fight. It should be noted that the case was recorded not only on ideological grounds. Tito’s Communists saw in Russian emigrants reactionaries and enemies of the red power and often attacked not only on them but also on their families or threatened them. He commanded the corps Boris Stafon came out of baptized Jews, Lt-Col of the Royal army, participated in the Ice campaign, the commander Belozersky Drozdovsky regiment division. Unlike the Cossacks and the Russians, officials of the Russian corps after the war has not issued the USSR, because they never were its citizens. So who is this Shooters, which opponents prefer to call Girkin? By the way, it looks very funny when proponents of multinational call Strelkova Girkin, but terribly troubled cave-Semitism, when, for example, Ganopolski called Margolis. Lord, such a blatant double standards are bad!

Whether Strelkov a monarchist, whites or Stalinist, we seem to have sorted it out. But the most important question: whether or not he acted in Ukraine itself or by order of the oligarch Malofeev, and maybe in general surgery was developed in advance of the FSB, we will likely not find out in the near future. And may never be known. The issue was too sensitive. Himself Strelkovs in interviews repeatedly stressed that he acted on his own initiative. He did not hide that first worked in the Crimea, where, according to some, was an Advisor to the head of the region Aksenova on security issues. Oleg Kashin also reported that he had seen Strelkova in the Crimea at the talks with the newly appointed head of the Ukrainian Navy Berezovsky, who, after negotiations ceased to be and became Deputy commander of black sea fleet of the Russian Federation. And Casino it was presented as a GRU employee, although Strelkov have repeatedly distanced themselves from this information, stating that he was an employee of the FSB. If his appearance in Slavyansk explained half own initiative, and on the other half the fact that it in this town called local activists (according to Strelkova), his care was established, if not the highest, the very highest level. He has repeatedly said that it was removed in exchange for helping DND, which is quite similar to the truth, because thanks to the good press he has gained significant popularity in various political circles.

Regardless of political affiliation, we must acknowledge that the most important figure in the events in Ukraine last year was it. In Jan 2014 Strelkova no one knew. Six months later he was hardly a candidate for national leaders, and the press was so good that it was possible to suspect an earlier onset of the operation “Successor”. Coming in Slavyansk with a few people, a few months later he left there with a few thousand. Of all active persons who have shown an interest in the events in the East of Ukraine Donetsk-Lugansk, and from the Ukrainian side, Strelkov was the only one who pulls on a real leader. On the background podsuetivshis cops, Mnshikov, larechnikov coaches judo and sellers broken satellite dishes Strelkov allocated and experience, and education, and charisma. And, despite Fsbei past, it is impossible not to agree with the fact that such figures in Russian history did not appear for a long time (perhaps since the Civil war of 1918-21 years), and it is unknown whether there will be again someday.

"If anyone knows, the Russian corps fought in Yugoslavia, together with the Germans and the Serbian Chetniks against Tito’s partisans. The body was Russian immigrants from Yugoslavia. Dacă cetnicii "erau pro-germani", atunci cum de colaborau cu Aliaţii, ajutând la evacuarea piloţilor americani doborâţi deasupra Iugoslaviei ? Piloţi care zburau înspre sau dinspre zonele petroliere din jurul Ploieştiului. Şi vorbim deja despre 1944, când Aliaţii (mai ales URSS şi Anglia) îl favorizau exclusiv pe Tito, numai lui îi paraşutau armament.

"Operation Halyard, also known as the Halyard Mission, was an Allied airlift operation behind enemy lines during World War II. In July 1944, the Office of Strategic Services (OSS) drew up plans to send a team to Chetniks led by General Draža Mihailović in the German-occupied Territory of the Military Commander in Serbia for the purpose of evacuating Allied airmen shot down over that area. This team, known as the Halyard team, was commanded by Lieutenant George Musulin, along with Master Sergeant Michael Rajacich, and Specialist Arthur Jibilian, the radio operator. The team was detailed to the United States Fifteenth Air Force and designated as the 1st Air Crew Rescue Unit. According to historian Professor Jozo Tomasevich, a report submitted to the OSS showed that 417 Allied airmen who had been downed over occupied Yugoslavia were rescued by Mihailović's Chetniks, and airlifted out by the Fifteenth Air Force."
