Protecting yourself

There’s an awful lot of questions going around regarding security, as spy blog describes here.  Being completely secure online is pretty tough, but there are a few ways you can help yourself. Our contact form is secure, but you must cut down risks, so:

1. Don’t use your work computer for submissions.

2. Avoid public computers and password free Wifi points.

We also recomend using Tor – this is some free software which enables you to surf more securely. They have plenty of information on their website. Don’t install this on your work computer!

We also thought it’d be a good idea to put some links to some not-too-technical online sources which can help protect you from any instrusions.

A particularly attractive one, if not a tad outdated, is Security in a Box. It also comes in other EU languages. This gives you an easily digestible ‘how to’ guide on online security, and even our parents find it useful.
